Salt & Vinegar Chops

I made up a recipe last night for dinner. I am not good at straying from a set recipe, so I was pretty happy how this turned out. :)

Bret asked me if I was going to post this on my blog. That is a miracle because he is not a big fan on my time spent blogging! So, because of his suggestion, here it is. Bret likes salt & vinegar chips, so I thought that salt & vinegar chops might be good.

Salt & Vinegar Chops

  1. Use thin cut pork chops.
  2. Season them with just a little salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder (I just used Paula Deen's Seasoning - click for the recipe).
  3. Make a coating mixture of 2-3 eggs and about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of milk. Mix together well.
  4. Crush up salt & vinegar potato chips for the breading.
  5. Heat a large frying pan on medium heat with oil to coat pan. (I used EV olive oil)
  6. 1st coat a chop in the egg/milk mixture, then in the crushed s&v potato chips.
  7. Put chops in pan. Let fry for about 5-6 minutes on each side. Only flip them once because the breading will stick to the pan and come off of the chop.
  8. I cooked mine on medium for the 1st side and medium low on the 2nd side.
Here is the finished picture! They were really yummy!
(Ramekins and plate were from Williams-Sonoma outlet store.)

Looks yummy! I always have a hard time making pork chops taste good, so I'll have to try this one for sure!

oh my goodness! I love your header picture!!! Is that a creamer cow? My grandma had one that I would drink milk out of its mouth...I have a soft spot for creamer cows.

Looks great! What is in the small ramekin?

Thanks, Lisa! Applesauce with apple pie spice on top.

Glad that you liked the creamer cow, Stephanie. They sell those at Williams-Somona for $25! I went to the Williams-Sonoma outlet in Primm, NV and bought several for $5 each!

I think that Sur La Table has them (in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood). I did buy a creamer cat there for pretty cheap.

That looks so yummy! I will definitely have to try. I wish I could follow a recipe... I am just the opposite... I always deviate from the recipe (I know... I have trouble following rules) then, when it turns out good, I can never remember what I did so I can duplicate it again. :-)
