What Are You Having for Dinner Tonight, Melinda?

This is the age old question. My lifelong neighbor and friend Melinda MacLean and I would ask this question to each other when we were little and would play together. "What are you having for dinner tonight?"

I would always answer something traditional like meatloaf, pot roast, or pizza. Melinda's family always cooked very internationally. When I would ask her, my favorite answer would be "We are having curry for dinner tonight". How many people could say that as a kid! And, she would be excited about it! So, she was nicknamed "Curry Girl" by me. They would have Yorkshire Pudding or Apple Fritters or many other interesting things like that.

I think that hanging around with the MacLeans helped me to develop an interest in trying and cooking all different types of food when I got older. Thanks Uncle Marc & Auntie Joyce!

Yes... Lexi's favorite meal is actually sushi. We had a Japanese friend of my brother that taught us how to make it... well worth the time to learn... it is very yummy!
